In today's business climate, balancing the benefits of dynamic growth with
issues of corporate responsibility is a significant task. Penn Line Service
recognizes the importance of this balance with its Corporate Service Group.
The Corporate Service Group consolidates issues of personnel, risk management
and government compliance under a single administrative umbrella to ensure
consistently safe, reliable operations for each division. Functioning as
a "one-stop" resource and support arm for field operations, Corporate Services
integrates programs in occupational safety and health, state and federal
government regulation, employee relations and quality control for Penn
Line Service and its subsidiary and affiliate companies.
Among the specific programs managed by Corporate Services are:
-
Specialized
safety and health programs which address the activities and risks unique
to each operation. Two full-time field safety directors assigned to a multi-state
territory conduct field audits, monitor crew activity and equipment integrity,
and provide job-specific training and instruction.
-
A comprehensive program of drug
and alcohol testing which mandates pre-employment and random testing for
every operations unit.
-
A far-reaching fleet safety
program which ensures that all vehicles meet tough performance standards
set by the company. This program includes annual dielectrical testing of
aerial lift units to ensure their stability around power lines.
-
Compliance with U. S. Department
of Transportation public safety regulations covering commercial drivers.
-
A sophisticated hearing conservation
program which combines annual OSHA-mandated audiometric testing with job
site noise level monitoring and prescribed hearing protection.
-
EEO Administration including
issues of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
