| Penn Line Service, Inc. has
been involved with the mine reclamation industry since the early 60's.
What began as a small seeding and mulching project in southwestern Pennsylvania
has expanded into a division that reclaims over 5000 acres a year with
state of the art hydroseeding equipment.
With our 330-gallon hydroseeders we have the capacity to revegetate over twenty acres per day on your project. Steep areas and/or slide prone areas often require mulching with hay or straw to quickly prevent erosion. Our trailer mounted power mulchers have the capability of applying up to twenty tons of mulch per hour. This produces an even, protective cover on the newly seeded areas. In addition to reclaiming areas with seed and mulch to produce grassland, Penn Line has planted over one million tree seedlings a year to reclaim strip mine sites back into useable forestland. Fast growing tree species are normally planted on an 8' x 8' spacing with our tractor drawn machine planters. This has produced outstanding tree coverage in a five to seven year period. On an average day with one of our machine planters we can reclaim over ten acres of mined land. Penn Line Service has undertaken large mine reclamation projects in PA, WV, VA, MD, Ohio and NY.
